OOC: One Year of EVE Travel!

If you had told me three years ago today, as I took my first tentative steps into the world of New Eden, that I would running a blog about internet spaceships, I would have laughed in your face. If you had told me a year ago today, when I first published a small article on the EVE Gate that my blog would grow as insanely as it did, I would have stared at you in disbelief (whether I actually planned to start this blog on Mark726’s birthday is honestly a mystery to me. I could totally see myself being completely oblivious to something like this). If you had told me at either of those times that EVE Travel would grow into not only a member of the Blog Pack, but (I hope) a resource to the EVE community regarding the fascinating sites in this game that we all love, with nearly 50,000 page views, I probably would have assumed you confused me with some other blogger. To say that I’m humbled at the site’s success doesn’t even begin to describe it. The overwhelming support that I’ve received from the community has made me so thrilled to be part of something as large as EVE Online, and I’d like to think that I’ve made myself quite comfortable in the little niche that I’ve carved out.

So thank you, everyone, for helping me in this project. EVE’s a vast universe and there are an incredible amount of sites out there to explore. If it weren’t for the incredibly positive feedback that I’ve received from all points in the community, that list of sites that I keep open for EVE Travel would seem incredibly daunting. I certainly wouldn’t have been as motivated as I am to keep this blog up. So to all of you who have sent me kind words, who have asked me questions, who have not shot at me as I traversed your space, who have shot at me as I traversed your space, who have referred me to sites, who have read my sometimes-rambling entries: I sincerely thank you. This blog would not have been possible without my readers (a cliche of thank-you blog posts to be sure, but I’ve never really understood it until I started this site up).

Incidentally, I realize that this is the only OOC post I’ve ever made on here, but I feel like the event warranted a special thank you. But now we return to our regularly scheduled program of pretty pictures.
